LEICESTER will have four riders competing in the British Under-19 Final at Birmingham on Wednesday.
Lion Cubs No.1 Dan Thompson is one of the favourites for the event, and will be racing on his home track as he recently joined the Brummies in the Championship as cover for the injured Stefan Nielsen.
And even though Cubs skipper Joe Thompson and team-mate Vinnie Foord are both sidelined, three other members of the club’s NDL team are included.
In-form Ashton Boughen won the recent British Youth round at Perry Barr and will be confident of claiming more top scalps, whilst Max Perry also gets further big-night experience and also has raced on the Birmingham track recently.
Max James, who produced a match-winning display for the Cubs at Edinburgh recently, was this week elevated into the meeting proper from the reserve berths.
There will be a new winner of the event this year as 2022 champion Leon Flint is too old to defend his crown.
The action gets underway at 7.30pm and will also be available via live stream from https://www.brummies.tv/ .
